Tripod for Phone Under Rupees 400 : Review - Tygot Adjustable Aluminium Alloy Tripod Stand Holder for Mobile Phones & Camera [In depth Review]

This post is a review about a tripod stand for phones and cameras. The model I'm reviewing today is the Tygot Adjustable Aluminium Alloy Tripod Stand Holder for Mobile Phones & Camera. It's a low priced (Under Rupees 400) tripod stand for phones (It says for phones as well as cameras on amazon).

Welcome all to another post on The EveryDay Blog. This time it's about a tripod stand for phones that comes at a price lesser than that of a medium sized pizza. So, if you're a beginner and have just entered the world of photography, looking a tripod and really short on cash, then my friend, you should give this post a read. I've covered all the aspects of the tripod in detail so that you can have good idea about it before purchasing it. If a high quality product is what you are looking for then you should look elsewhere. This product is not expensive and it reflects on the quality levels as well. So without wasting much time, let's head to the review!

THE PRICE:

The price of this tripod is ₹369 on Amazon.in
When you visit Amazon.in, you will find many tripods with different names and descriptions but have the same pictures as this one. Each one of them comes at a different price (some as low as ₹260), but I'm not sure how many of those have the same features as this one.

THE PACKAGING : WHAT'S INSIDE?
The quality of the packaging of this product is best decribed as 'average'. The cardboard box in which it comes is not of the best quality. Inside, The tripod is placed in a black pouch. The pouch is really useful as it allows you to carry the tripod around easily. The quality of the pouch is pretty good too.
Along with the tripod stand, Mobile Holder Bracket is also provided, which can be screwed onto the tripod. The Mobile Holder Bracket is one of the most pathetic ones I've ever seen, more on that later.

THE POUCH
THE MOBILE HOLDER BRACKET

THE DESIGN, BUILD QUALITY AND OTHER DETAILS :
The design is pretty simple and neat and there are no unnecessary bits. The tripod stand is made of an aluminium alloy. Apart from the legs of the tripod and the mounting screw, rest everything is made of plastic. The plastic parts are black in color and go well with the silver color of the aluminium.

Coming to the quality, you get what you pay for. The quality levels aren't the best, but at  ₹369 you can't really complain much. The plastics feel hard and brittle. The aluminium legs are light and will bend easily if not taken care of. The mounting screw is made of metal, which is a good thing as it won't get worn out easily. A level gauge is also provided. The different knobs for adjusting the tripod are made of plastic, and have metal screws and they can be tightened or loosened easily without much effort. Making adjustments can be a little tricky. The tripod I ordered had some loose joints and hence I couldn't get a precise adjustment of the level gauge. As I said, you get what you pay for and this can be seen in the quality and fit and finish levels in some places. But this is a great tool if you are just a beginner and do not want to spend big money for some decent pictures or videos. The problem of loose joints can be easily fixed with some M Seal (We love jugaads, don't we?).

The centre aluminium rod has rough edges at the end. It does not even come with a plastic covering. This might cause injuries if not taken care of.
It also comes with a Mobile Holder Bracket which is really useless according to me. It just won't hold your phone in a proper way. While adjusting the tripod, your phone can easily slide out of the bracket. If you love your phone (which I'm sure you do) then I suggest buying a better bracket as the one provided with the tripod is just too dangerous.

HOW WELL DOES IT PERFORM IT'S JOB :
You would be surprised by the number of adjustments the tripod provides. It's quite versatile and the length can be adjusted to meet a wide variety of needs.

The legs of the tripod can be extended in 3 stages. All you have to do is open the leg adjustment levers and adjust the length as much as you want.

You can either extend the legs all the way out, or pull them out till you get the desired height and then lock them in place using the levers.

THE LEG ADJUSTMENT LEVERS ARE OF GOOD QUALITY
The other adjustments provided can be seen in the GIF images below

THE HANDLE HAS TO BE TURNED TO LOOSEN THE SCREW
THAT ALLOWS THIS ADJUSTMENT.

It also has a level gauge which is a really great feature.

The phone bracket or a camera can be mounted by screwing it onto the ¼ inch screw. The screw is made of metal and this will make it last longer.

Apart from the legs, there is an additional extension provided to increase the height of the tripod further.

After completely extending all the adjustments for length, the tripod can achieve a maximum height of 1020mm (roughly 1 metre) from the ground.

IMPORTANT TIPS :

  1. Hold the tripod firmly while making any adjustments, else you'll be reminded time and again that this tripod costs lesser than a pizza.
  2. While extending the legs and bringing it back to its original length, be careful to not use much force as the legs could easily bend or the adjustment levers can easily snap.
  3. Check for loose ends and use M seal to lock things in place( easiest method I could think of to reduce the shakiness).
  4. PLEASE BUY A BETTER QUALITY MOBILE HOLDING BRACKET IF YOU LOVE YOUR PHONE
THIS TRIPOD IS BETTER SUITED FOR BEGINNERS. IF YOU HAVE THE MONEY, LOOK FOR A BETTER OPTION.
This is not a terrible product, but its got its drawbacks so if you're seriously into photography then you should invest in a better tripod but you can always return a product if you don't like it, so its worth giving it a try. This tripod wouldn't be as durable as the other ones, but with some care it can perform decently enough.

Eaphones Under Rs 500 : Mi Earphones Basic Review | Mi Earphones Basic with Mic [In Depth Review 2019]

This post is about my review of the 'Mi Earphones Basic with Mic' . This post  includes : Mi Earphones Basic price, my view on the Mi Earphones Basic, the features, and various other aspects of the earphones and also a short  Mi basic earphones vs boAt BassHeads 100  comparison at the end .

Well, as of 2019, Mi has become the Patanjali of electronic products. Almost every middle class or upper middle class family has some or the other Mi product (unless you are like really really rich). Don't get me wrong, I am in no way saying that Mi makes bad products(or that Patanjali makes bad products). I'm just talking about the the company's reach in the Indian electronic products industry. Be it TV's, mobile phones or a wide range of other products. Well so I today I decided to write my review about these pair of Mi earphones which Mi calls 'Mi Earphones Basic'. I have two pairs of these at home so I had to pick up one to write a post on it. I personally use a boAt BassHeads 100 earphones which I'm satisfied with.If you haven't read my review of the boat BassHeads 100 earphones, you can read it here :  boAt BassHeads 100 Review . So this review will also include a few comparisons with the boAt earphones. So without wasting much time lets head to the review!

THE WARRANTY :

THE PRODUCT COMES WITH 6 MONTHS WARRANTY
THE PRICE :
The price of this product is ₹399 on Amazon.in

THE PACKAGING : WHAT'S INSIDE ?
The product comes packed in a nice rectangular box. Inside the box, the earphones are placed in a transparent plastic tray. The quality of packaging is really great. The earphones and the microphone  have dedicated slots where they are pushed in and placed neatly. I'm really impressed with the packing.

Other than that the box contains 2 pairs of Extra Earbuds of different sizes (and shapes). Most people will find a comfortable fit by changing the earbuds if needed. The earbuds come in a sealed pouch unlike a zip lock pouch, like the boAt bassheads 100, so once opened, you need to store them carefully.

THE 2 EXTRA PAIRS OF EARPHONES

ACTUAL PACKAGING IS NEATER. THIS IS JUST TO GIVE YOU A BASIC IDEA
THE BOX

THE TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS :The specifications of the product are as follows:
  • DRIVER SIZE : 10 mm
  • RATED POWER : 5 mW
  • CABLE LENGTH : 125 cm
  • FREQUENCY RANGE : 20~20000 Hz
  • IMPEDENCE : 32 Ω
  • PLUG PIN : 3.5 mm
THE DESIGN AND BUILD QUALITY :
Speaking about the design, the earphones have sort of a roundish design. It's a pretty basic design, not the best looking, but not bad either. Once you wear it, you wont notice it much so it doesn't matter.

The sound chamber is made of aluminium and it adds a little more premium feel to the product. The build quality feels solid due to the aluminium used. Things a put together tightly.
The cable is 125 cm long. Tangling of the cables is not really an issue with these earphones. I haven't used the earphones for a long time, so I don't have an idea of how long the insulation on the cables will last, but they do seem to be of decent quality.
It has an "L" shaped connector/jack.

The microphone is placed close to your mouth and that's a nice thing. It's placed on the right hand side wire. It's a very light unit hence it won't result in the earphones popping out of your right ear
(like in Samsung earphones). The button on the microphone is a long rectangular one according me, feels. slim. I would have preferred a big round button instead.Sleeping on your sides with the earphones on wouldn't be an issue with a few adjustments.
The overall design gets a good 8.5/10

IT HAS A FLOWER POT
SHAPE TO IT. NOT A BAD DESIGN
ACTUALLY.

THE' L' SHAPED CONNECTOR/
JACK

THE COMFORT AND ERGONOMICS :
These earphones are really comfortable and won't cause any discomfort to your ears while you . In wear them. In case you need more adjustments to the fit, then you can use the extra earbuds that come along with the product. These earphones have no sharp edges. Comfort wise it gets a 9/10.

THE PERFORMANCE :
The audio quality is pretty decent for a product in this price range and you will have no complaints on that front. Bass wise, comparing it with the boAt Bassheads 100, I felt that these earphones have a better bass. Both are in the same price range. The bass isn't super hard hitting but it's nice and punchy and deep and won't disappoint you at all. Other than that, the overall sound quality is great and delivers a good listening experience.

Noise cancellation too is excellent. During my commute in some noisy buses, I've used these earphones( noisy buses are where I actually test noise cancellation of any earphone) and they did a great job of controlling the outside noise and I could enjoy the music nice and clearly without any interruptions. At home though, be careful as hearing other people calling you, can be difficult if the volume is too high.

Audio quality during calls is great and there is no distortion of any sort. The mic being place close to your mouth helps a lot and is a feature that I really love this feature.

ADDITIONAL HELPFUL INFORMATION :

  • The button on the microphone can be used to pause/play music.
  • To receive calls, press the microphone button once and long press it to decline calls.
  • During calls, press the microphone button once to disable the mic and and long press to cut the call.

Before I end he review, let me point out some quick differences between these earphones and the boAt BassHeads 100. The overall audio quality is the same, except for the Mi Earphones Basic has slightly better bass, has an aluminum body, has an 'L' shaped connector and 6 months warranty, whereas the boAt BassHeads 100 has great but slightly lesser bass than the Mi Earphones Basic, has a plastic body, has a straight connector and comes with 1 year warranty. Both earphones are in the same price range

BACKSIDE OF THE BOX CONTAINING THE REGULAR
DETAILS

THE SPECIFICATIONS :The specifications of the product are as follows:
  • SPEAKER SIZE : 10 mm
  • SENSITIVITY : 103 ± 3dB
  • CABLE LENGTH : 120 cm
  • FREQUENCY RANGE : 20~20000 Hz
  • IMPEDENCE : 16 Ω
  • PLUG PIN : 3.5 mm
THE DESIGN AND BUILD QUALITY :
boAt calls these earphones 'hawk' inspired. The overall design is quite unique and will stand out from the other earphones. I personally like the design. It has sort of an aggressiveness to it. The 'hawk' theme cannot be noticed much in Black color though.

Coming to the other aspects of design, the cable length is 120 cm, i.e 1.2 mts long and this length is adequate for most conditions. You can easily leave your phone in your pocket and the earphones will still reach your ears without being stretched out.

The overall Fit and Finish of the product is great. Everything is well put together and there are no loose bits hanging out here and there. My usage is kind of rough and even after almost 6 months, nothing has come apart, both sides are working perfectly as they should and the microphone cover hasn't split open . The cables rarely ever get tangled. I keep them in a tight space inside my bag without any proper folding and when I remove them back again, I've never  had to carefully untangle the wires as if I'm trying to diffuse a bomb.
The insulation on the cables is still intact and hasn't started to peel off.The only part that has broken is a rubber covering on the cable where where the cable meets the earphone (On the L.H.S earphone) but this isn't really a shock for me, considering the rough usage. The 'boAt' logo printed on the microphone cover hasn't peeled off except at some very tiny places which are not easily noticable. In short, the quality of materials used is very impressive. The button on the microphone isn't loose and feels nice to press.

In terms of drawbacks, there are two things that might be annoying to some people. The first is that the microphone is not placed close to your mouth and hangs somewhere on your chest. I personally prefer it this way but it could have been slightly higher as sometimes during calls, I get complaints from the other person that they can't hear me loud enough, especially in situations where I can't talk loudly. Due to this I sometimes have to hold the microphone near my mouth which can become uncomfortable at times.
The other problem that I sometimes face when I sleep on my side with the earphones on is that it pokes your ear. But this can be solved with a few adjustments and isn't a really major issue.

Rest, design wise this is a pretty good product.

THE 'HAWK' INSPIRED DESIGN
THE SIZE IN COMPARISON TO A 1 RUPEE COIN

THE 3.5 mm JACK

THE COMFORT AND ERGONOMICS :
These earphones are one of the most comfortable earphones I've ever owned, and trust me, I've owned a lot of earphones in the price range of  ₹200 - ₹500 and with no doubt these are the most comfortable ones. The earbuds are made of good quality material and won't hurt your ears in any way.
The earphones fit your ear nicely and do not slide out.

Other than the placement of the microphone and the slightly uncomfortable feeling while wearing the earphones and sleeping on your sides(which can be adjusted), there aren't really any issues with the comfort and ergonomics of this earphones. It gets a good 8.5/10

THE PERFORMANCE :
Now, coming to the main part of any earphone, the audio quality. Before you proceed, let me tell you that I'm no music expert and I'll speak about the performance from the point of view of a ordinary person looking for some decent sound quality.

boAt calls these earphones the 'BassHeads' 100 so I'll talk about the bass first. I too, usually prefer bass heavy music and my playlist too, is full of bass heavy Hip Hop music (I listen to other genres equally often). When you hear 'BassHeads' you expect it to deliver good bass and the 'Bassheads 100' does not disappoint at all. The bass isn't super hard hitting but it is pretty strong and does not sound flat at all. There is no distortion at high volumes. The overall sound quality is crisp and I don't have any complaints and  considering the price point, it is great. You definitely wouldn't feel cheated after purchasing these earphones. Sound quality gets a good 9/10, keeping in mind the price.(The Mi Earphones Basic have slightly better bass)

Noise cancellation I would say, is excellent. I use these earphone daily during my commute from home to college and back and the buses I travel in are pretty noisy with very loud and unrefined sounding engines and other unpleasant sounds. But since the day I've started using the Bassheads 100, the noisy buses weren't really an issue. 95% of the noise is reduced and all I hear is music and some really faint bus noises. At home It's actually dangerous to sit with the volume turned up high as It becomes difficult to hear someone calling you (hopefully It's not your mother), or if someone rings the doorbell. So noise cancellation gets a 9/10

The audio quality during calls is also great and I don't have any other complaints other than the placement of the microphone being a little too far

OTHER HELPFUL INFORMATION :

  1. While playing music, single press the microphone button once to pause the music, double press to go to next song and triple press to go to previous(the triple press function doesn't seem to be working on my phone anymore)
  2. To answer calls, single press the microphone button once. During calls, press the microphone button once to disable the mic and and press again to enable it, long press to cut the call.
Mi Earphones Basic vs boAt BassHeads 100 :
Before I end he review, let me point out some quick differences between these earphones and the boAt BassHeads 100. The overall audio quality is the same, except for the Mi Earphones Basic has slightly better bass, has an aluminum body, has an 'L' shaped connector and 6 months warranty, whereas the boAt BassHeads 100 has great but slightly lesser bass than the Mi Earphones Basic, has a plastic body, has a straight connector and comes with 1 year warranty. UrbanGabru Hair Wax | UrbanGabru ZERO 2 INFINITY Clay Hair Wax Review

This post is about my review of the UrbanGabru ZERO 2 INFINITY Clay Hair Wax. This post will include everything about how I use this product, the before and after results, the PROS  and CONS, the side effects and so on. So stay tuned as bring to you my honest review of the UrbanGabru ZERO 2 INFINITY Clay Hair Wax 2019.

Before I continue let me make it very clear that these are just my views about the product and I shall not take responsibility for any damage caused to anyone due to their usage of the product after reading my review.

So welcome back guys to yet another post on the EveryDay blog. This time around it's about a product that has become an important part of my life now.A product that I've been using so regularly that something feels incomplete if I don't use it before I head out of my house. It's the UrbanGabru ZERO 2 INFINITY Clay Hair Wax that I'm talking about.

PART 1 : The Story
So before I begin, let me give you a small background story about why I chose to use any hair styling product in the first place. If you want to skip this and head straight to the review then go to part 2 . For most part of my life, I've always had short hair due to various reasons like my school being strict about haircuts and my parents( especially my mother) who thought that keeping your hair short will make you look decent. Well, I agree to that point to a certain extent but towards the end of my 12th STD, I started growing my hair out and realised how great it looked. But there was a problem. I just couldn't style it properly. My hair was all over the place and it was really annoying. Back then, I had no idea about the various Indian products available in the market. All I used was nothing(Sometimes Brylcreem which did nothing to help me) .This was in the beginning of 2017. Then ended my 12th std and so began my 1st year year. By this time I was fed up of my long hair and I got it cut it to a medium length. Then few months into my Engineering life, I started missing my long hair and started growing it back again. During those days I had done a little research and was using the UrbanGabru Hair Wax, the first version that they launched, to style my medium length hair. To be honest, it was a pathetic product. Next thing, I was on the lookout for a something with a stronger hold. Again, after a little research I ended up purchasing a product called 'Kocaine Klay Hair Wax'. The reason I chose this product was that I wanted something natural or with as little chemicals as possible as I intended to use it daily. According to the YouTube reviews, this was a natural product and I ended up buying it. The product was decent. Not great but not completely bad either. The only big issue I faced with it was that it couldn't be washed away with plain water and needed shampooing everytime. I used it for a good 7 months, until I came upon a YouTube video that claimed that this product is fake. The reason provided was that it had no licensing no. or batch no. through which the government authorities could verify the claims made by the manufacturer. And then, I happened  to notice this new product by 'UrbanGabru' which was actually a new and improved version of the actual UrbanGabru Hair Wax. The YouTube response to this product was quite positive and the one main thing that attracted me was that it could be washed away with just water.

PART 2: THE REVIEW!
It's 11pm right now as I'm typing this. I haven't washed my hair for almost 3 days(reasons I can't disclose here) and it's oily as hell. The first thing I gotta do is to shampoo and wash my hair as it must have accumulated a lot of dirt and oil. But tonight is not the time as it's too cold and I'm too lazy to go to the bathroom again. So I'll stop typing here and show you guys a picture of my hair as it is right now. The purpose of this picture is to tell you how much my hair can be transformed after applying the wax. Ugly selfie time. Duh.
NOTICE THE 'CHAMPU' LOOK, ALSO I'M TIRED AS HELL😴

Okay, so its 3:18 pm the next day and I'm back after taking a shower and shampooing my hair and now they're nice and smooth with no oil, dirt or whatsoever. Let me show you a picture.
NICE AND CLEAN

THE PRODUCT :
The product comes in a 100 grams package. The container is made of plastic.

THE INGREDIENTS :
The product claims to use mostly natural ingredients, with very few chemicals.
It Contains :

  1. Aqua Water Cetrath-23
  2. Propylene Glycol EDTA
  3. Vitamin E
  4. Almond Oil Polysorbate-20
  5. Diatom Earth Clay
  6. Ethylene Glycol Distearate
  7. Cetanol & Coco Diammonium Chloride
  8. Perfume

APPLICATION OF THE PRODUCT :
Before applying the product, you need to make sure that your hair is 100% dry or else the product will loose its effectiveness ( as it's a water soluble product). Your palms should be clean and free of any oil. It's always a good practice to wash your hands before (and after) you apply this product to your hair.

I WONT BE USING ANY HAIR DRYER(ON A HOT SETTING) TO STYLE MY HAIR AS I'M NOT COMFORTABLE WITH IT . USING A HAIRDRYER ON A DAILY BASIS ISN'T THE BEST THING FOR YOUR HAIR.

I TOWEL DRY MY HAIR AND THEN LET IT DRY NATURALLY 99% OF THE TIMES.

ONLY ON SPECIAL OCCASIONS, I USE THE HAIR DRYER FOR THAT DAPPER LOOK.

STEPS TO APPLY 'Urban Gabru ZERO 2 INFINITY Clay Hair Wax' :
  1. If you've just towel dried your hair, make sure it's free of any tangles else you will not be able to style your hair the way you want.
  2. Take a small amount of the product, maybe as much ash the size of your fingernail and rub it onto your fingers and spread it evenly across your fingers.
  3. Rub the product into your hair starting from the back and moving towards the front.
  4. Set your hair into the desired style.
  5. If you do not get the desired hold, repeat steps 2, 3 and 4.
  6. Applying too much product will weigh down your hair and spoil the look of your hair, stop after applying it for 4-6 times.
Here's a small video showing you guys how I apply the product.

It's always important to take a small amount of product at a time and apply it in 4-6 steps instead of applying the entire thing at once.

Now let's talk about how it performs.

THE HOLD :
The hold of the product, without using a hair dryer or any other additional hair styling product is 'good'. It isn't great, but is isn't very bad either. I would give it a 6.5 out of 10.After styling your hair, on an average, the product will hold your hair in place for around 4 hours, after which you might need to add more product. Now, a lot of it depends on the condition of your scalp. If you sweat too much, don't expect much from the product. Applying this product to hair that is too oily wont help at all.
The weather conditions also play a very important role in determining the hold of this product. If the conditions are humid, this product wont last long, but at the same time, during winters, when the humidity is low, this product has kept my hair in place for more than 5 hours without any problem.
The most important thing to take care about while using this product is that to keep all kinds of moisture away from your hair during, and after application of this product.
Any kind of moisture just destroys the hold of this product. Well, a drop or two of water won't affect it, but if you have wet hands and if you run it through your hair then it's gonna ruin your hairstyle. As I've mentioned earlier your hair and palms need to be clean and dry while you apply this product.
Also your hair type plays an important role. If you have very thin hair, then this is not the product for you.
The ideal hair length for people using this product should be 6 inches or lesser especially for people with slightly thinner hair. Anything more than that, you'll just end up applying more and more product making your hair oily and ugly.

Last but not the least, if you do not have the correct haircut required for your hairstyle, then its pointless using even the most expensive product in the market. So get a correct haircut first.

THE FRAGRANCE :
The fragrance isn't something that you'll really notice once you start using the product regularly. It's a very mild fragrance, definitely smells good but you won't notice it much.

THE SIDE EFFECTS :
Now, I've been using this product almost daily for about a year now and I haven't noticed any side effects so far. This product hasn't caused dandruff in my hair. The quality of my hair hasn't been affected in any way due to the regular usage of this product. If you have sensitive scalp or any other skin disorders then I would recommend you to consult a skin/hair specialist before you start using this product.

THE PROS and CONS :
PROS :
  1. Can be easily washed away with water. No shampoo required everytime you try to remove the product, just plain water is more than enough.
  2. No side effects on long term usage( atleast in my case).
  3. Reasonably priced. At ₹330 on amazon, this is a really value for money product.
  4. Easy to apply. The entire application process takes less than 5 minutes if done right
  5. Uses mostly natural ingredients (as claimed by the manufacturer).
  6. Does not make hair uncomofortably stiff. You can always re - style your hair after applying this product.
CONS :
  1. Does not provide the 'Strong hold' that it claims. Has a somewhere between a medium and strong hold.
  2. Packaging could be improved. One particular container I ordered had a lid which was broken on the sides (the plastic wrapping was still intact) though the contents were still packed inside tightly.
  3. Makes hair oily in humid conditions if not applied in careful amounts.
  4. The contents of the same broken lid container developed some kind of fungus on top after 2 months. I  might also add that this is the only package which developed fungus, the remaining 3 packages that I ordered were fine till they got over.(each package lasts around 3 months before it gets over)

CONCLUSION :
All in all, this is a great product for those who want to style their hair with little effort and at an affordable price. Ideal for people who want a product with slighlty more than medium hold. Stronger hold can be achieved by using a hair dryer with this product.

Remember to always get the correct haircut for the hairstyle you wish.

SAO JACINTO ISLAND, THE VASCOKAR'S FAVOURITE!

Hello all my lovely people!, welcome to my first post on this blog.

Today I'm gonna talk about probably one of the most favourite hangout spots of the people of Vasco, the St. Jacinto Island. I'm gonna tell you everything about the Do's and Don'ts when you visit this beautiful place, the best timing and the public transport facilities available to reach here and the nearby places you can go to grab a bite in case you hear your stomach growling.

Well, for people in Vasco, if it's a weekend and they just wanna get out of the house to get some fresh air, they have 3 main options, the Baina beach, which is just around 2-3 kms away from the heart of Vasco city. Next, there is the very famous Bogmalo beach, which is 8 kms away from the heart Vasco city and last but not the least, the very beautiful, St. Jacinto Island which is 6.2 kms away from the heart of Vasco city (lots of hearts here😁).

Before I get into the details, let me tell you, PLEASE READ THE DO'S AND DONT'S PART CAREFULLY!(ESPECIALLY THE DONT'S)

1.THE LOCATION
The easiest way to reach the island is by taking the Vasco-Cortalim-Panjim route, i.e the NH366.
Well, actually its called an island but it's not completely surrounded by water. A proper bridge made of cement with a tarred two lane road connects the St. Jacinto island to the NH366. There are no ferry services to reach the island. The island and the bridge can be spotted while you're on the highway.

To make things more clear, click on the link below to get the exact location. Technology is a blessing isn't it!

2.THE FUN PART
Okay, now that you're here, what do you do?Sightseeing and photography are what mainly people come here for. Other than that, few people also take part in fishing activities. The beautiful surroundings make for some great pictures. Ditch the selfies and take some proper pictures of you and your loved ones with the blue skies and the water surrounding the island making for a beautiful background.During monsoons this place is even more beautiful with the rain clouds adding more drama.(Monsoons and Goa together are like the chai and pakodas combination).

The bridge that I was talking about has almost no traffic on it except for some few vehicles moving in and out of the island and the vehicles of the visitors parked on the sides. At night the lights that line up on both sides of the bridge add to the beauty of the place. A camera with good low light photography capabalities can get you some great shots here at night.

There is also the St. Jacinto church which has a beautiful architecture. I won't go into the details of the church, I'll do that maybe in another post. I'll let the pictures do the talking now.

THE BRIDGE

Please forgive my average photography skills. These pictures do not do justice to the beauty of this place. You gotta visit the island to experience it.

3.FOOD :
There are two restaurants within the premises of the island , 'Bridge and Tunnel,The Cocktail Bar' and 'Seagull Bar and Restaurant', as per Google Maps. Of the two I've personally seen Bridge and Tunnel while I have no clue about Seagull Bar and Restaurant. Probably Seagull Bar and Restaurant has been started just recently as I couldn't find any pictures or ratings on Google.

'Bridge and Tunnel,The Cocktail Bar' seems to be quite popular with a rating of  4.1/5 as of today . I haven't personally been to the restaurant but it looked quite classy from outside.

Locations of both the restaurants are provided below:

Other nearby restaurants are 'Shirodkars Bar N Restaurant' and 'Sheela Bar & Restaurant'
Both of these restaurants are within 500 mts from the island once you cross the bridge and get onto the highway, going  towards Panjim, almost next to each other on the right side of the highway.

Shirodkars Bar N Restaurant has a rating of 3.6/5 as of today.

Sheela Bar & Restaurant has a rating of 4.0/5 on Google

There is also a bar called Coelho Bar. It no ratings or pictures on Google.

3.PARKING
If you plan taking your vehicle, you won't have trouble finding parking here as this place isn't overly crowded.
One place you can park your vehicle is near the church. Be careful not to obstruct or block anyone else's path. Sometimes in the evening there are kids playing football, so there is a chance that the ball might land on your vehicle. I personally had an experience where a ball came rolling under the wheels of my car and I ended up driving over it and yes, it burst(the ball, not my tyre). So take care of these things while parking near the church.

Another place you can park your scooter/bike/car/batmobile is on the bridge. Yes, you can do it but only when the traffic is scarce and guys PLEASE DO NOT PARK YOUR VEHICLE RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BRIDGE FOR A PICTURE. It casuses a lot of inconvenience to the others using the bridge. It also leads to accidents. Some people enter the bridge at such high speeds as if they're gonna take off like a Boeing 737. So one of you has to be smarter. Be the smart one.
Always park your car a few car lengths behind or ahead of another car and never exactly parallel to it.

Two wheeler parking is a breeze. Just fill it, shut it, forget it and park it.

4.PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Fortunately for those who do not have a vehicle, it is still a pretty easy task to reach this island.
All you have to do is to take a LOCAL "Kadamba" Bus running on the 'Vasco to Panjim Via Cortalim' or 'Vasco to Margao Via Cortalim' route . Kadamba buses are Government run buses (Like the KSRTC in Karnataka). The reason I highlighted Local is because there are two types of Kadamba buses that you find at a bus stand. One is the 'Shuttle Service' or 'Shuttle' bus and the other is the 'local' kadamba bus.Among private buses, you have the 'Vasco to Ponda' Via cortalim bus. But guys, do not waste your time waiting for the Ponda bus. The best way is to take a Kadamba bus.

While at a bus stand, ask any one of the conductors and they will show you the correct bus. Asking the conductors is better than asking the other bystanders as they might not have a proper idea.Once you're in the bus just ask the conductor to drop you at the island. The bus will stop at the entrance of the bridge. While on the way, keep an eye for the island as you might want to remind your conductor once again to drop you.

In Vasco city you have a seperate terminus near the market bustand for Shuttle buses, so make sure you're are at the main Kadamba bustand which is further ahead.

To go back to Panjim/Margao stand at the bustop that is on the same side as the entrance of the bridge and take the Panjim/Margao bus.
To go back to Vasco, stand on the opposite side.

5.RIGHT TIME TO VISIT ST. JACINTO ISLAND :
The island is open to the general public during all times. But like all places this place too should be visited during the day if possible as, at night, more untoward incidents can happen (with men as well as women). Also, public transport is more easily available during the day.

During summers, avoid this place in the morning hours as the hot sun will drain you out. There are not much trees around where you can get some shade. In the afternoon obviously, the situation will be the same or maybe even worse.
I usually come here after 5pm because that's when you can enjoy the beauty of this place without draining yourself.

6. DO' AND DONT'S

DO'S :
1.Carry enough water with you. It really gets hot here sometimes if you come at odd timings during the day.

2.Carry a valid ID . Make this a practice wherever you go.

3.Keep your phones charged for those awesome pics and emergency calls.

DONT'S :

1. Anyone could be tempted to go out there with their girlfriends/boyfriends for some quality time. But the cops don't necessarily like it. If you're 18-24 years old and / if both you're parents do not know that you're dating or if you are not married to that person, then please be careful. The cops come here for patrolling quite often and many a times when they spot young couples(the guy and the girl could just be friends too), they come to you for questioning, and sometimes they even note down your names(in case they find you doing something inappropriate).
They ask for your ID's first and if one of you are under 18, you're under trouble. Then                  they  ask you questions like "Where are you from?","What does your father do?",  "Do your parents know about this?", "What were you doing here with him/her", etc.
If you guys are really just friends, you could try telling them that but it depends on them                whether they would believe it. Whether what they're doing is right is still a debatable question
Drop your opinions about this in the comments below .

It's better to go in a group rather than just with your girlfriend/boyfriend.

2. Keep the intimate acts within closed doors : Yes, there are some couples who wish to take       their love lives to the next level by trying out things out in the open. NO! please guys don't do it.
It's just not safe. Get a room, do what you want. You never know who would call the cops on you for such things, especially in St. Jacinto.

3. Park Responsibly : As I've mentioned earlier, don't make it look like you lack common sense. Park safely and responsibly.

4.Do not Drink in the public : This makes everyone else around you uncomfortable so please avoid it. Go to Coehlo's Bar instead.

All in all, if a relaxed evening with friends and family is what you are looking for, then this is a great place for you.

Hope you enjoyed this post. If you like it, share it with your near and dear ones. Leave a comment if you have something to say. Constructive criticism is always welcome!😊.
